REPORT ON ITALY TRIP [POSTED 07.28.2005]
Friends and clients,
As most of you know, I took my 15 year old girl's basketball team to San
Marino Italy for a tournament about 2 weeks ago. The tournament featured a
combined total of 80 teams from 13 countries and I am very happy to report
that we won the Girls Championship ! In the finals, we beat a team from
Holland that featured a girl who was 6 foot 6". I have attached a photo of
our team with the Championship Cup and I have also attached a photo of my
daughter, Kelsey, who is only 5'4" along with the aforementioned player from
Holland. (Also in the picture is my daughter's new Italian boyfriend !) All
of my players fell in love with Italian boys while we were there. As some of
you are aware, I have coached this team since the girls were in the 5th
grade. This tournament marked the end of our team as we will not be playing
together next year due to all of their involvement in high school teams,
etc. This team has been a very big part of my life over the last 5 years and
without you guys being patient with me while I was out for games, practices,
etc, I would not have had this great experience. Thanks and a special thanks
