The H-1b process takes approximately one month.
Caveat: There is a limit on the number of H-1b’s granted each year and the U.S. often reaches its limit which can cause considerable delays before you can file for an H-1b. During the times that the H-1b cap is reached you will not be able to obtain an H-1b except in limited situations such as: (1) you are going to work for a non-profit Organization related to an institution of higher education; or (2) you are going to work for a non-profit/governmental research organization.
