ETS SUSPENDS TESTS IN CHINA
Educational Testing Service has temporarily suspended administrations of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the Test of Spoken English (TSE) due to continuing health concerns related to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

CGFNS TIME-SAVING TIP
Problem: One of the most difficult components of CGFNS certification is urging a nurse's school to promptly forward graduation diplomas and course-sheets.
Tip: When contacting your school, include a traceable returnable envelope (such as Fed-Ex, UPS, or DHL). This will allow you to confirm that the envelope has been mailed by your school, trace the movement of the package, and confirm delivery at CGFNS.
PROCESSING STAT
The Vermont Service Center, which processes cases for employer's on the East Coast, is quoting I-140 nurse processing times of only one month!

CGFNS TO CLOSE TAIPEI, HONG KONG
CGFNS will close its exam sites at Hong Kong and Taipei, Taiwan for the July 9, 2003 Qualifying Exam due to concerns over the SARS situation in the region. Applicants who have requested either of those sites will be notified and rescheduled to their second choice of exam site or the November exam.

CGFNS POSTPONES BEIJING OPENING
CGFNS has decided to postpone opening its Beijing test site until November 12, 2003 due to concerns over the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) situation in China. Applicants who requested the Beijing exam center for July will be notified of their alternative options.

The Cincinnati Enquirer confirms that nursing skills remain in high demand. Nationally, the average starting nursing salary has jumped 11% in the last year.
