IMMIGRATION ALERT
The CIS' Service Center
Operations division reports that it has not seen a spike in H-1 filings
since April 1, 2004. This contradicts several unsubstantiated
internet-based postings, which claim that FY2005 cap-subject H-1 cases are
being filed in record amounts. While the CIS failed to produce precise
numbers, a CIS representative reported that the number of FY2005 H-1
filings was "surprisingly low." April 1, 2004 was the first date that
Fiscal Year 2005 (FY2005) cap-subject H-1 cases were permitted to be
filed.
