The Immigration and Naturalization Service has issued a new memo which answers many common questions associated with H-1 and L-1 nonimmigrants who have green card adjustments pending. Specifically, the Memorandum addresses frequently asked questions about travel outside the United States by an H-1 or L-1 nonimmigrant who has applied for a green card. These FAQs supplement a July 13, 1999, INS memo which provided guidance for an interim rule addressing these issues.
